Hi. You are either a) somebody trying to find out more information about me, b) an old friend keeping tabs, or c) me, admiring my name in print. If you belong to one of the first two categories, I hate to remind you that what google says about me is staggeringly myopic and innacurate. I'll save you the details, as I'd prefer you find out who I am the old fashioned way. But you'll probably look at those results anyway, so the least I can do is make some sense of the pith and drivel my name uncovers. Without further ado: A user’s guide to the results you get when googling me. jordiweinstock.com. Well you’re here, ain’t you? Depending on google's cache, you might get a peek at this site, which I just broke on purpose. It was part of a project in law school that I hosted on my server space (donated by Reflexions Data, a company I co-founded once upon a time). Any reference to templates in the google summary line comes from that. Maiaw.com. Sis. Day Pitney, LLC. My law firm. It's a good place. Big firm, small office: best of both worlds? Theoretically I do IP law, but that may be changing soon... SSRN-A Bridge, a Tax Revolt, and the Struggle to Industrialize ... That’s the paper mentioned above. I dedicated my freakin’ life to that thing for 2 years. You’ll see it dotted through the results, including a 20 minute bit on NPR about the article. I am criminally reduced to “a student” in that segment. If you knew how much of the research and writing I did for that paper, you’d gag too. Filling the gaps. Some self-congratulatory article by my law school about research I did while enrolled. “See, we let students do research. Now give us your money.” I despise that picture. Seriously people. There had to be one better than that. Oh wait--here's one 's better than that. Atlantic Unbound Interview. I was an intern at the Atlantic Monthly way back when, and was lucky enough to interview author Simon Winchester about his book “the Map That Changed the World.” Bold title, I know. Good book, though. Duke University Rhythm & Blue. My college a cappella group. I actually sang with them in law school, too. They’re pretty freakin’ good. More Luten Bridge paper stuff. War With Iraq (pdf). This was an early look at the potential costs of war with Iraq, published before any of the bombs began to fall. The Academy was lampooned for its crazy high estimates. Looks like we might have actually come up a bit short, actually…. (ps it says I did the layout but in fact had no conrol over the design. sadly.) There are more links, but they start to become fuzzy. Thanks for playing. |
